Representative Vicky Steiner · North Dakota House District 37
Dickinson is home
A lifetime invested in western North Dakota.
For the people of North Dakota’s District 37, Representative Vicky Steiner embodies something valuable in public service: experience grounded in a genuine connection to the community she serves. A Dickinson resident for more than four decades, Steiner built her professional and personal life in western North Dakota.
Steiner has worked as a real estate professional with Home and Land Company, representing buyers and sellers in the Dickinson area. For 30 years, she helped lead the North Dakota Association of Oil & Gas Producing Counties, later renamed the Western Dakota Energy Association. That combination of business experience and public service gives her firsthand understanding of how taxes, regulations, energy policy, property values, and economic development affect real people.
She and her husband, Calvin, have four children and 12 grandchildren, and she has been active in Rotary. Her commitment to District 37 is personal: she wants Dickinson and western North Dakota to remain strong communities for future generations.

Practical experience. Clear priorities.
One of Steiner’s biggest priorities has been responsible stewardship of taxpayers’ money. As a member of the House Finance and Taxation Committee, she has participated directly in some of the Legislature’s most important decisions about taxation and state spending. Steiner has followed her belief that keeping taxes reasonable gives families and businesses greater freedom to invest, prosper, and build their futures in North Dakota. Her voting record has been consistently fiscally conservative. For District 37 and the surrounding Dickinson area, the economy is interconnected through energy, agriculture, small businesses, and working-class families. Steiner understands that affordability and a quality of life that help retain a strong workforce are essential for continued economic opportunity.
Steiner’s roots in Dickinson and western North Dakota run deep. Through her professional career, community involvement, and family life, she has built a lasting connection to the region she serves. She and her husband, Calvin, have four children and 12 grandchildren, and she has been active in Rotary. Her commitment to District 37 is personal: she wants Dickinson and western North Dakota to remain strong communities for future generations. Most importantly, Steiner understands the culture, values and challenges that are unique to western North Dakota. With every vote, she asks herself how government decisions will affect families, particularly working couples raising children and trying to establish themselves. Steiner knows that strong families are the backbone of every community and is committed to keeping Dickinson a place where people can work, raise children, own homes, and build lasting roots.
